Touch ID
Touch ID sensor is one of the star features of iPad Air 2, which is also being used in all the iPhones lineup since 2013.

Built into the home button, the Touch ID of iPad Air 2 allows easy login. Supporting five fingerprints, the touch ID allows you to assign  it to five different people, thus giving them access to the tablet. However, it doesn’t have a built-in NFC, and therefore makes it difficult to make transactions using Apple Pay. The company also insists that any kind of data is neither stored nor transferred anywhere. Fingerprint data is also always secured. If there is any need for authentication for Touch ID, the requestor will get prior intimation regarding the same.

Weight matters
Comfort is always the major consideration whilst investing in Apple products. The new iPad Air 2 is lighter than any earlier versions of the range. With a height of 9.4-inch and a width of 6.6-inch, it doesn’t fail to stand apart. When discussing thickness, it is only 0.24 inch in size.

Available in three different colors, Space Grey with black borders to display, white display borders in Silver color and new White and Gold, it also has an A9 chip that helps boost the performance. A switch for rotation lock on the right-hand side has been removed which can now be used only for up and down of the volume. On the upper right corner, there is a button for sleep and wake.

Everything about iPad Air 2 showcases premium quality. The aluminum finish, the color options, brightness, color accuracy, all look terrific

Increased performance
This iPad Air 2 has made a record in case of iPads designed with a 64-bit chipset which is now called the A8X. This feature has increased the performance by up to 40% as compared to the performance of the A7 in previous years. This iPad is also equipped with the features gyroscope, accelerometer, GPS, compass and barometer data without taxing the main processor.

This iPad also has a 4.0 LE Bluetooth and dual channel with 2.4GHz and 5 GHz, WI-FI. It is also designed to support HT80 with MIMO, as it has a better bandwidth for fast uploads and downloads over wireless.

Improved camera
Apple has updated the camera of iPad Air 2 with 8MP megapixel, sensor, great for shooting 3264 x 2448 photos and 1080p video. The front camera is 1.2MP with “larger” ƒ/2.2 aperture and is well suited for time-lapse photography, thus offering 10-photos-per-second in burst mode and a panorama mode proficient in taking photographs up to 43MP. This app also offers a built-in timer.

Bottom line
The iPad Air 2 also includes a Touch ID sensor, which has been proved the fastest mobile architecture in comparison to any other platform up to this date. It has an improved camera subsystem, having good memory and storage, and available in a thinner, lighter attachment. It has the ability to store a lot of media and content in its App Store and iTunes Store and also provides free educational material from iTunes University.

The iPad Air 2 is quite thin, light, yet incredibly powerful. It’s a solid upgrade over last year’s iPad Air and can be a good investment if you are planning to buy a tablet.
